"Go2 Travel Group Ltd" operates under several trading names, including Go2, Go2 Private Hire, Go2 Executive Travel, Go2 Minibus Hire, Go2 Travel, and Go2 Taxis. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Go2 Travel Group Ltd is the "Data Controller."


2. The Information We Collect: We only collect the information necessary to provide you with a reliable and safe transport service. When you register an account, make a booking (including via phone, email, or third-party messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger), or contact us, we may collect:

  • Contact Details: Your name, pickup/drop-off addresses, phone number, and email address.
  • Journey Details: Date, time, and specific requirements for your booking.
  • Account Details: Payment information and invoicing details for corporate clients.


3. How We Use Your Information: We process your personal data primarily to fulfil our contract with you (providing transport services) and to comply with strict local licensing laws. We use your data to:

  • Process and manage your bookings and account.
  • Dispatch drivers to your requested location via our Autocab booking system.
  • Retain a legally required record of journeys as dictated by local licensing conditions.
  • Simplify the booking process for your future journeys.


4. Who We Share Your Data With: To complete your journey, we use a secure booking and dispatch system (Autocab). Through this system, necessary journey details (such as your name, phone number, and pickup location) are securely shared with our drivers.

  • Our Drivers: Please note that our drivers operate as self-employed subcontractors. They view your details on their secure driver app solely for the purpose of completing your journey. All personnel, including taxi drivers, are bound by strict confidentiality agreements to preserve the privacy of your data. We will never sell your data to third parties for marketing purposes.
  •  Law Enforcement and Local Authorities: We may share your personal data, including booking records and journey details, with the police, local licensing authorities (such as Northumberland County Council or Newcastle City Council), or other government bodies upon lawful request. This is done to assist in the prevention and detection of crime, the apprehension of offenders, or to ensure public safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Third-Party Messaging Apps: If you choose to contact us or make a booking via third-party platforms such as WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, please be aware that your messages are also subject to the privacy policies of those respective platforms. We will securely transfer your booking details from these apps into our primary Autocab booking system to fulfil your journey, ensuring Autocab remains our single, secure source of truth.


5. Call Recording: If you contact us by phone, please be aware that calls may be monitored and recorded. We do this to ensure the safety of our staff and customers, to improve our customer service, and for internal training purposes.


6. Cookies and Website Analytics: We use a cookie banner on our website provided by our host. We use essential cookies to ensure the website functions correctly, alongside basic analytics cookies to view monthly reports on website traffic. You have the option to accept or decline non-essential cookies when you visit our site.


7. Data Security: We take the security of your data very seriously. Our primary booking system, Autocab, operates to strict, industry-standard security protocols. Our internal systems are protected by end-to-end encryption, passwords, and firewalls to prevent unauthorised access, ensuring your data is kept safe at all times.


8. How Long We Keep Your Data: We only store your information for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, or as strictly required by law.

  • Local licensing authorities (including Northumberland County Council and Newcastle City Council) require private hire operators to keep records of each booking for a minimum period of up to 2 years.
  • HMRC requires corporate financial records and invoices to be kept for 7 years.

Once these legal retention periods expire, your data is securely deleted from our systems.


9. Your Privacy Rights: Under UK data protection law, you have several rights regarding your personal information, including:

  • The right to request a copy of the data we hold about you (Subject Access Request).
  • The right to have incorrect data rectified.
  • The right to request the erasure of your data (subject to our legal licensing retention requirements preventing immediate deletion of active booking records).

As of December 1st 2025, we transitioned to distance-based pricing for all fixed fares. This ensures you get a fair price based exactly on your journey. Here's what you need to know:


  • No Night-time Surcharges: We’ve kept our "no late-night extra" policy to save you money after dark.
  • Booking Online? Card payments via our web-booker or mobile app are subject to a pre-authorisation (Fare + £7). Any unused amount is automatically refunded to your card.
  • Prefer to keep it simple? All our vehicles still accept cash or card if you’d prefer to avoid online card details or pre-authorisation rules.
