Newcastle International Airport Transfer Guide

Airports can be stressful environments. We have designed this comprehensive guide to give you complete peace of mind before you even step into one of our vehicles. Here, you will find everything you need to know about our transparent fixed fare pricing, car park options, and our seamless pickup and drop-off procedures.

Understanding Your Fixed Fare - Complete Transparency

We believe in honest, upfront pricing so you and your company know exactly what to expect, with no hidden surprises.


  • How We Calculate Your Fare: All of our fixed-price quotes are calculated based strictly on the shortest A-to-B driving distance for your journey.
  • Additional Airport & Route Fees: Please be advised that your base fixed fare does not include airport parking charges (for drop-offs or pickups) or any road tolls encountered on the route.
  • Why Are These Extra? Airport parking fees vary depending on which terminal car park you choose to use. Because we give you the flexibility to select the parking zone that best fits your budget and mobility needs, these specific charges are simply added to your final fare on the day.

Choose Your Meeting Point - Car Park Options

 Newcastle International Airport offers different drop-off and pickup zones. You can choose the option that best suits your luggage requirements, budget, or corporate expense policy. 

The Short Stay 2 Car Park

 Located approximately 300 metres from the terminal. This involves a short 3 to 5-minute walk along a signposted, covered walkway. 


  • Best for: Travelers with light luggage or those looking to minimise their transfer costs.
  • Surcharges: Adds £4 for all vehicle types. 

The Express Car Park

 Located directly opposite the terminal, just 50 metres away. This is a safe, easy walk across a designated crossing taking less than a minute.


  • Best for: Corporate travellers, families with heavy luggage, passengers with mobility concerns, or anyone wanting the fastest, most convenient option. 
  • Surcharges: Adds £6 for saloon, estate, or executive saloon vehicles. Adds £7 for MPVs, minibuses, or executive minibuses. 

Step-by-Step Airport Procedures

 To minimise your parking fees and ensure a smooth handover, our drivers operate from a dedicated staging area just outside the airport grounds.

Outbound Journeys (Drop-offs at the Airport)

Telling us where you want to be dropped off is simple:


  • In Advance: You can specify your preferred car park (Express or Short Stay 2) by leaving a note in the comments section when making your booking.
  • On the Day: Alternatively, simply inform your driver of your preference while you are in the vehicle traveling to the airport.

Inbound Journeys (Pickups from the Airport)

If you have never used an airport transfer before, please do not rush. We have a streamlined process designed to keep you relaxed and your parking fees at an absolute minimum:


  1. We Monitor Your Flight: Provided you supplied your flight details at the time of booking, you do not need to worry if your flight is delayed. We track your arrival time automatically. Once your flight physically lands, we immediately dispatch your driver to our nearby waiting area.
  2. You Receive a text Message: As soon as your driver is dispatched, you will receive a text message containing their direct contact details.
  3. Take Your Time: There is no need to panic. Please proceed through passport control, security, and baggage reclaim at your own pace. Your driver will wait patiently off-site.
  4. Make the Call: Once you have collected all your luggage and are 100% ready to step outside the terminal doors, please call your driver directly using the number provided in the text message.
  5. Confirm Your Car Park: During this brief call, let your driver know whether you would like them to pull into the Express Car Park or the Short Stay 2 Car Park.
  6. Quick Collection: Your driver will leave the staging area immediately. Because they are stationed just moments away, they will typically arrive at your chosen meeting point within just a few minutes.

Essential Airport Regulations & Safety Compliance

Newcastle International Airport, and local councils heavily enforce traffic and parking regulations. To protect our drivers and ensure a safe, legal journey for our passengers, please be aware of the following strict rules: 

Strictly No Stopping on Red Routes

The airport perimeter and surrounding roads are designated as a 'Red Route' by Newcastle City Council. Stopping here is illegal and heavily monitored by CCTV. The fine for stopping is £70. Under no circumstances will our drivers stop on these roads. 

No Pickups/Drop-offs at the Petrol Station

For safety and legal compliance, the airport petrol station cannot be used as a meeting point to avoid terminal parking fees. The garage is monitored by private CCTV cameras, and the enforcement company issues automatic £100 Penalty Charge Notices for any drop-offs or pickups. Our drivers will politely refuse requests to use this area to avoid fines and ensure compliance.

Airport Hotel Bookings (Hilton, Britannia, Premier Inn)

If your journey starts or ends at an on-site airport hotel, you must be a registered guest. To prevent airport parking abuse, hotel reception desks require proof of stay (such as your booking confirmation) to validate the parking ticket, which allows our driver to exit the hotel premises without facing heavy penalties. 

Recent Airport Changes & FAQs

In January 2026, Newcastle International Airport officially removed the free 15-minute parking period in the Short Stay 2 car park. Every vehicle entering the terminal drop-off or pick-up zones is now subject to the airport's mandatory entry tariffs. 


While Newcastle Airport recently opened a free waiting zone at Callerton Parkway, we are unable to use this facility for our passenger pickups or drop-offs.


Our commitment is to provide a seamless, premium, door-to-door transfer. The Callerton facility is located off-site and requires passengers to board a shuttle bus with their luggage to reach the terminal. Currently, this shuttle only runs every 30 minutes.


Because our drivers already wait up to 60 to 70 minutes for inbound clients to clear passport control and baggage reclaim, adding the unpredictability of a shuttle bus schedule makes the service operationally unviable. Missing a bus would add a further 30-minute wait for your driver, on top of the travel time. To ensure you are never left waiting in the cold, and to guarantee our drivers remain on schedule for all our clients, we strictly use the Express or Short Stay 2 car parks directly at the terminal building.

  • No Night-time Surcharges: We’ve kept our "no late-night extra" policy to save you money after dark.
  • Booking Online? Card payments via our web-booker or mobile app are subject to a pre-authorisation (Fare + £7). Any unused amount is automatically refunded to your card.
  • Prefer to keep it simple? All our vehicles still accept cash or card if you’d prefer to avoid online card details or pre-authorisation rules.
